The New York Enterprise Report Small Business Awards is the annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of the 500,000+ small businesses throughout the tri-state area. The Small Business Awards will recognize 5 small businesses for their best practices and 3 businesses under the best of the year categories.

A panel of experts in the related fields will judge all applications. Awards will be presented to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and implemented programs to generate competitive advantages, revenue profits and/or long-term value. Please note the criteria and requirements listed below. Also listed with each category are examples to assist you in the process. These are only examples and you are not limited to those practices.

Criteria

Awards will be presented to those companies that have shown the ability to use their best practices and/or implemented programs to generate competitive advantages, revenue profits and/or long-term value.

Please note the qualifications for each category on the following pages. Make sure your entry meets the criteria. Also listed below each category are examples to assist you in the process. These are only examples and you are not limited to those practices. However, we encourage you to review these before submitting.

It is strongly suggested to give quantifiable results when possible. The results weigh heavily on the judges’ decisions. All please note that a best practice must have been created for and implemented for results within the applying company, not a client/customer.

Note: All applicants will be required to affirm that the information provided is known to be accurate and truthful.

Application Fee

There is a $100 non-refundable application processing fee for each application submitted before May 15, 2013.

Eligibility

• Must be headquartered in the NYC metro area (100 mile radius from Manhattan).
• Must have more than 1 and no more than 500 employees (including owners).
• Must be a subscriber of The New York Enterprise Report (for a free subscription, visit www.nyreport.com/subscribe).
• Company must be in business for at least 2 years as of December 31, 2012.
• An application may be submitted by anyone on the company’s behalf including an owner or company employee.
• Winners of the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 Best Practice and Best of the Year Awards may not apply for the category in which they won.

Limit of 2 category entries per applicant. An application must be submitted for each category. Only the highest scored entry will be considered, the other category will be disqualified.

Early fee deadline – Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at 5pm

Final fee deadline – Friday June 28, 2013 at 5pm
